Description
  • Edge Sharpening: This process involves precisely grinding the edges to ensure they are sharp and have the proper bevel. A good edge tune will enhance your ability to carve on hard snow or icy conditions by improving grip and control.

  • Base Grinding/Flattening: The ski or snowboard base is carefully checked for any wear, gouges, or irregularities. The base is then smoothed and ground to ensure an even and flat surface. This improves glide and ensures the board or skis sit correctly on snow.

  • Base Repair: If there are deep scratches or gouges in the base, the technician will fill these with a special base repair material and smooth it out for optimal surface contact.

  • Waxing: A high-quality, performance-grade wax is applied to the base to reduce friction with the snow, enhancing speed and smoothness. Different types of waxes may be used based on the expected snow conditions (e.g., cold or warm snow).

  • Sidewall and Binding Inspection: The sidewalls and binding systems are also inspected and adjusted. This may include checking the binding release settings, cleaning, and lubricating the binding mechanisms for optimal function and safety.

  • Edge Deburring: After sharpening, the edges are deburred to remove any sharp microscopic metal shards that could cause resistance or damage the snow or other equipment.

  • Finish and Polish: The edges and base are given a final polish to improve glide and presentation, ensuring that the skis or snowboard are in top condition for performance.
